Unboxing: Kodak Zi8 HD Camcorder

http://www.youtube.com/v/CZDEmeHzoMY?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Even thought the Zi8 has been discontinued like the Flip Camera Line, it still remains to be on of the most useful pocket video camcorders on the market today! I have experienced several different devices but the Zi8 is crisper and more professional than others to be a pocket video camera. The Box Includes: – The Zi8 – A HDMI Cable – AV Cable – Power Brick and Prongs – USB to DC Cable – Manual and Warranty Thanks for watching Tech Surge and be sure to go check out my YouTube channel at www.youtube.com

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA100 / CA102 test in various light conditions & underwater HD/HQ

http://www.youtube.com/v/w0BUHIY8kzQ?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata The Sanyo VPC-CA100 (named CA102 in the US) is at this time the best buy if you’re looking for a waterproof full HD sports camcorder. Pro: * Excellent full HD picture (under sunlight) * Small size & weight (242gr) * Underwater capable (till 3 meters/9feet) * Good still pictures at 14MP (quality is ok for such a tiny sensor!) * Great Zoom & Macro capabilities (though you need the hand of a brain surgeon to keep it steady then…or a tripod) * Good battery life (’bout 60 min.) * Face detection & face chasing Contra: * Not so great in low light conditions * Awful menu navigation (though everything is a matter of getting used to) * No night shot * Xenon flash is somewhat weak in dark conditions * No lens cover As a conclusion: awesome little gadget with impressive picture quality (when the light is right). There’s just nothing that comes close in quality at that price at this time on the market that also could go underwater. For me it’s the ideal sports cam. Would I buy it again?….Hell yeah! All shots were taken in default automatic mode, without hassling much with the menu settings. NOTE: Please be aware that the original video file was captured at 1080p and just looks perfectly crisp on a 52″ HD LCD…due to the conversion by Youtube there is quite some quality loss!

Panasonic HDC-SD900 SD900 Raw camcorder footage test

http://www.youtube.com/v/hZtpAKtvVSs?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata A short collection of clips made on a Panasonic HDC-SD900 HD camcorder. I was testing settings and exposure settings. It is a mixture of manual and automatic settings with the image stabilizer on using the HA1920 setting. The Rode Videomic Pro is on at the beginning but I forgot to turn it on for the rest of the shots. Oops! The 1080/50i footage was put straight into Sony Vegas Pro and I rendered the file as an Interpolated Progressive 25p .mp4 file. It was filmed on St Kilda Beach in Melbourne, Australia on quite a murky winter day.
